Chicken Tikka Masala is probably the most popular Indian dish in the world. Its popularity has proven so great that almost every Indian restaurant worldwide now offers it. It has conquered even the Indian subcontinent, and has arguably replaced Tandoori Chicken as the flagship of Indian food.
Many suggest that the dish was in fact created by chefs in England sometime in the 1970s; however few care as most people agree it is a truly special dish that is a wonderful choice for a dinner with friends or any special occasion.
The Chicken Tikka Masala is usually a mild curry, and many people make it the dish that they use to introduce spicier foods to their growing families. If you would like a hotter version, of course we can supply both medium and hot spice blends as well as the usual mild varieties.
The recipe for making this special dish is, as you would expect, longer than other dishes, due to the preparation of the marinated chicken in a hot oven or barbeque and then the preparation of the Masala (curry sauce). The number of ingredients you supply is eight, and the spices supplied are simple to integrate, but this is a curry that will take longer to prepare and it has about twenty steps from beginning to end. As always our recipes hold your hand through the process but this is not a curry to be rushed - and I for one think it is worth every step.
The spice blend serves 10 to 12, and for convenience this comes in two packages if you want to make two smaller meals.
